Bangladesh: ISIS Affiliate Carries Out IED Attack in Chittagong

Three people, including two police officers, were injured on 28 February when a remote-controlled Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded at a traffic police box at the Sholoshahar Gate No 2 area of Chittagong city. Bangladeshi authorities have blamed Neo-JMB (Jamat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh), a local affiliate of the global terror outfit Islamic State (ISIS), for carrying out the attack. On the other hand, ISIS has claimed formal responsibility for the attack through its social media channels. Investigations remain ongoing.
