The New SARS-like Coronavirus — Update

Authorities in the United Kingdom have just reported the world’s 11th person infected with the new coronavirus. The infected person did not travel abroad. In this case, the infected person is a close family contact of a previous case reported in the UK. So, there is some evidence that this virus can be transmitted from person-to-person under certain conditions like close personal contact with an ill person. Still, there is no sign that this virus can be easily transmitted to large numbers of persons. The World Health Organization continues to monitor the situation closely with all its member countries.
