The West Bank

Travellers should exercise extreme caution when visiting the West Bank. Violent incidents involving gunfire can occur without warning. There are frequent police and military operations, particularly in Nablus, Jenin, Qalqiliyya, Tulkarem, and the refugee camps.

It is not possible to travel in this area without passing through multiple Israeli military checkpoints, where violent demonstrations can occur; especially near the barrier separating the West bank and Israel. Ensure that you transit the West Bank using Routes 1, 443, and 90.

The level of violence in Ramallah, Jericho and Bethlehem is low compared to other areas in the West Bank.
