2 deaths from hand, foot and mouth disease in Shanghai, China

Two children have died from hand, foot and mouth disease in Shanghai. Several ares of China, e.g., Hebei Province, are beginning to report the transmission of this seasonal virus.

Small children are most susceptible to infection with this virus. Travellers who are travelling with small children can decrease the risk of exposure to hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) virus by frequent hand washing and maintaining careful personal hygiene.
