29,510 Malaria cases in Cambodia in first 5 months of 2012 (update)

Although there has been a decrease in the number of reported malaria cases compared to last year, 29,510 malaria cases were reported in Cambodia in the first five months of this year. There have been 27 deaths recorded.

Travellers to this region can reduce their risk of exposure to malaria by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
