6.3 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Papua New Guinea

A 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck 88km WSW of Porgera, Papua New Guinea, this morning. There were no immediate reports of damage or injury. The same region was hit by a 7.5 earthquake two months ago.

Due to the extensive damage from previous and the latest earthquake, travellers in the Enga province of Papua New Guinea should avoid all non-essential travel to the region. More earthquakes are likely and infrastructure may not be safe to use.
