Advice For Travellers

The summer is the season for transmission of this virus in China. Small children are most susceptible to infection with this virus, but the risk is generally low, unless children are exposed where children congregate, e.g., in day care centres or schools. Travellers who are travelling with small children can decrease the risk of exposure to hand, foot and mouth disease virus by washing hands frequently and by maintaining careful personal hygiene.
