A second case of dengue fever acquired from local mosquitoes

Health Department officials have issued a dengue fever alert after reporting the second case of dengue fever acquired locally from infected mosquitoes. The infection is the sixth locally acquired case in Florida this year ( 2 cases in Miami and 1 case in Martin County).

Travellers should be aware of the possible risk of exposure to dengue fever virus and take all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
