With the report of a 3rd case of Eastern Equine encephalitis in Massachusetts, authorities have declared that the risk of exposure to this virus is “critical” in the towns of Athol, Royalston and Orange. Children's playgrounds have been closed from dusk until dawn. Travellers to these areas can reduce the risk of exposure to this virus by following all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
