Another case of polio in Pakistan

A new case of polio has been reported in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The total number so far this year has reached 22 cases. Polio has also been reported in Fata, Sindh and Balochistan. Civil unrest and armed conflict have prevented many thousands of children from being vaccinated against polio.

Travellers in any country that reports cases of polio can reduce their risk of exposure to polio virus by ensuring that their childhood vaccinations, including polio, are up-to-date prior to travelling.
