Anti-Charlie Hebdo protests continue in Niger

French authorities have advised French citizens in Niger to stay indoors after anti-Charlie Hebdo protests turn violent. Demonstrators have been throwing stones, have set fire to churches and burned two police cars in Niamey. Two churches were burned in the town of Maradi. In the town of Goure, the residence of the foreign minister and a church were set on fire. On Friday in Zinder, 4 people were killed in demonstrations.

Foreigners in Niger should be aware that churches and French interests are being targeted and avoid these sites. Avoid any large public gathering or demonstration as these situations have been violent.
