Anti-Government Protest in Banjul - Gambia

A demonstration is planned for 16 December to protest against the extension of President Adama Barrow’s term in office. The demonstration will begin at 10:00 (local time) at Sting Corner in Jeshwang and will move towards Denton Bridge in Banjul.

Large gatherings and increased security presence are expected during the protest. Travellers should be cautious and also avoid any protests sites to minimize inconvenience and safety risks. Even events intended to be peaceful can escalate unexpectedly and quickly become violent.
