Argentina continues to see gradual increases in dengue fever cases

Dengue fever cases continue to be reported in several provinces in Argentina. So far, the total has reached 405 confirmed cases, with 88 of those reported in the last week. The provinces with the most reported cases include Salta, Córdoba, Chaco the Province of Buenos Aires, and the City of Buenos Aires. There may be many more unreported cases since counting and reporting may be hampered by lack of local access to health care, and many persons with mild illness may not seek health care. Travellers to areas where the dengue fever virus is active can reduce their risk of exposure to dengue fever virus by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
