Armed conflict continues in the Central African Republic (CAR)

Violence continues in the CAR, and a recent spike in conflict has sent more than 100,000 people to a makeshift camp at Bangui airport. The airport is patrolled by Burundian soldiers and is situated next to a French military base. This month alone, more than 1,000 people have been killed and an estimated 400,000 displaced in Bangui.

Travellers should avoid travel to the CAR at this time.
