Armed conflict displaces thousands of people in western Darfur, Sudan

Intensified fighting in recent weeks between rebels and security forces in the western Darfur region of Sudan has resulted in the deaths of dozens of people. The worsening violence has displaced more than 215,000 people since the beginning of this year and has disrupted the distribution of aid.
