Armed conflict in Mali - Update

This afternoon the French army, along with the Mali armed forces, launched an operation which ousted the Islamist rebels and retook the town of Konna. An air strike was launched by the French air force. Mali’s president declared a state of emergency across the entire country and called for a general mobilization against the radical Islamists.

Travel to Mali should be avoided at this time due to the armed conflict and lack of personal security.
