Armed conflict in Yemen.

Armed conflict between opposing political forces (supporters of the entrenched president Ali Abdullah Saleh and the opposition demanding his resignation) has broken out in Sana'a. Heavy gunfire resulted in 10 persons wounded. Gunfire also erupted in the city of Ibb when loyalist forces opened fire on the headquarters of the opposition Islamist party, Islah.

Travellers are reminded that many countries continue to advise their citizens to avoid travelling to Yemen where conditions remain unstable.
