Assistance for foreigners in Kumamoto, Japan, following earthquakes

Kumamoto City International Center in the city of Kumamoto will provide shelter for non-Japanese residents affected by the earthquakes. The center is also providing language translators in English, Korean, and Chinese. Other languages are available by telephone. Transportation out of the area is difficult at this time. All flights at Japan’s Kumamoto Airport reportedly cancelled until at least Sunday. All taxis and rental cars have been reserved and road infrastructure is damaged.
