Bangladesh: Dhaka Tops in Worst Air Quality Index

On 17 November, the capital city of Bangladesh ranked as the most dangerous in the Air Quality Index (AQI). Dhaka holds the top position with a score of 194 while India’s Delhi and Kolkata hold the 2nd and 4th position with a score of 182 and 173 respectively while China’s Chengdu holds the 3rd position with a score of 174.

Advice

The current pollution contains high levels of very small particulate matter that can be inhaled deeply into the lungs causing potential health problems. Persons with pre-existing heart and lung conditions should remain indoors, if possible until air quality improves.
