Bangladesh safety leading up to April 28 elections plus earthquake effects

Dhaka and Chittagong City elections are scheduled for April 28, 2015, a day that has been declared a public holiday in these two cities. Since violence has occurred in previous elections, there is a ban on motorized vehicles in both cities on election day. There are restrictions on motorcycles from 12:01 AM on Sunday, April 26, to 6:00 AM on Wednesday, April 29.

Also, the Nepal earthquake was felt in Dhaka and other areas of Bangladesh. Some have reported tilting buildings in Dhaka.

Be cautious in any area affected by the earthquake. Leading up to the elections, avoid any crowds or protests since these situations frequently end in violence in Bangladesh.
