Advice For Travellers

Many countries advise against non-essential travel to Lamu County and those areas of Tana River County north of the Tana river. This area was popular with tourists until attacks and raids began on villages. Last year gunmen, in one of their night raids, killed at least 60 civilians in the town of Mpeketoni.
