British Airways cabin crew union members vote for strike action

The union representing British Airways (BA) cabin crew, stated that 2500 staff have voted overwhelmingly in favour of strike action. The union must give seven days’ notice of intention to strike.

If strike action does occur, it is not likely to affect most BA passengers. Only the group of workers that are known as “Mixed Fleet” will be involved (about 15 percent of BA’s cabin crew). This group works exclusively out of Heathrow and does long and short-haul routes. No services to or from Gatwick, London City or Stansted airports will be affected.
