Cameroon bans full face veil in Far North region

As a security measure, Cameroon has announced the banning of the full-face veil for their Far North region following a double suicide bombing on June 15, 2015, in Chad.

With respect to personal security due to attacks by the Boko Haram, travellers should be vigilant and cautious of their surroundings. Women will not be able to wear face veils in Far North region of Cameroon. Chad, Congo-Brazzaville, and Gabon also ban the full-face veil.
