Canada also investigating measles cases

Sporadic cases of measles are being investigated by the Lanaudiere Public Health Department in Quebec (8 cases with a link to the current outbreak in California) while the Toronto Public Health Department is investigating 4 cases (2 children and 2 adults). In Manitoba, an infant traveller from India has measles.

Outbreaks of measles can occur frequently anywhere in the world at any time. Unvaccinated travellers often spread the disease when they return to their countries. Travellers can reduce their risk of exposure to measles virus by ensuring that their childhood vaccinations, including measles, are up-to-date prior to travelling.
