Cases of cholera continue to increase in Kunene, Namibia

During the on-going cholera outbreak, cases of cholera have increased to 485 in the Kunene Region. However the total number of deaths remains at 15. This outbreak has continued for the past 1 1/2 months. Travellers to any area where cholera has been reported can reduce the risk of exposure to this infection by strictly observing all food and water precautions. If gastrointestinal symptoms (e.g., vomiting and profuse watery diarrhoea) develop while visiting the affected area, travellers should seek medical care at once.
