Cases of hepatitis E associated with undercooked sausages in UK

Travellers should be aware that an increase in reported cases of hepatitis E have been linked to consumption of undercooked sausages in the UK. There were 461 cases in the 1st 6 months of 2014. Authorities in England and Wales have warned that one in ten sausages may be contaminated with this virus. Thorough cooking of sausages will eliminate the virus.
