Children die from malaria in Garhwa, Jharkhand, India

Six young children and 3 older adults have died from malaria in the Garhwa district in just the past 10 days. This area always experiences a rise in malaria cases and deaths during and after the monsoon season. Travellers to this region can reduce their risk of exposure to malaria by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
