Children die from malaria in Orientale Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo

In the last month, 23 children in the 0 to 5 year age group have died from malaria. There have been 264 registered cases in Weko, 125 km from Kisangani in Orientale Province. Travellers to this region can reduce their risk of exposure to malaria by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
