Advice For Travellers

Somalia is experiencing a severe drought, and the usually safe water supplies can become contaminated with cholera. The shortage of safe water supplies makes it difficult to avoid the risk of exposure. Travellers to any area where cholera is present should strictly observe all food and water precautions. If gastrointestinal symptoms (e.g., vomiting and profuse watery diarrhoea) develop while visiting the affected area, travellers should seek medical care at once.
