Cholera cases continue to increase in Uige, Angola

In the first 3 weeks of 2013, health authorities have registered a total of 235 cases of cholera at the Uige Provincial Hospital. No deaths are reported. Travellers to this area can reduce the risk of exposure to cholera by strictly observing all food and water precautions. If visiting this area and if gastrointestinal symptoms develop, e.g., vomiting and watery diarrhoea, travellers should seek medical care at once.
