Cholera continues to be widespread in Ghana

Cases of cholera continue to be reported from the East Region (35 cholera cases in less than 2 weeks), the Central Region (2,098 cases and 36 deaths) and the Western Region (13 reported cases and 1 death). All travellers to any area where cholera has been reported can reduce the risk of exposure to this infection by strictly observing all food and water precautions. If gastrointestinal symptoms (e.g., vomiting and profuse watery diarrhoea) develop while visiting the affected area, travellers should seek medical care at once.
