Cholera declared under control in North Kurdistan, Iraq

Iraqi authorities have declared that a cholera epidemic in northern Kurdistan has been controlled. A total of 272 cases and 4 deaths were reported. Travellers in this areas should still take measures to reduce the risk of exposure to cholera by strictly observing all food and water precautions. If visiting this area and if gastrointestinal symptoms develop, e.g., vomiting and watery diarrhoea, seek medical care at once.
