Cholera epidemic in Kismayo, Somalia, complicates conflict between militants and Kenyan armed forces

The World Health Organization has reported 639 suspected cases of cholera in the southern Somali town of Kismayo that is controlled by Al-Shabab militants.

In addition to the risk of cholera, travellers should be aware that this area is engulfed in armed conflict between militants and Kenyan armed forces. Travellers should avoid all travel in this area.
