Cholera follows heavy rains in northern Mozambique

At least 22 cases of cholera have been reported in and around Pemba in northern Mozambique following the heavy rains in that area. Travellers to this area can reduce the risk of exposure to cholera by strictly observing all food and water precautions. If visiting this area and if gastrointestinal symptoms develop, e.g., vomiting and watery diarrhoea, travellers should seek medical care at once.
