Cholera outbreak in Santiago, Dominican Republic

More than 80 cases with symptoms compatible with cholera have been reported in the Arroyos de Palo Quemados sector in the city of Santiago. Travellers to this area can reduce the risk of exposure to cholera by strictly observing all food and water precautions. If visiting this area and gastrointestinal symptoms develop, e.g., vomiting and watery diarrhoea, seek medical care at once.
