Cholera outbreak in Yemen affects more than 10,000 people

As of December 13, there have been 10,148 people suspected to be infected with cholera including 92 deaths linked to cholera. People affected come from a total of 135 districts, but 65% of people come from Aden, Al-Bayda, Al Hudaydah and Ta’izz alone.

Advice For Travellers

All travellers can minimize the risk of exposure to this disease. Strictly observe all food and water precautions in any area where there is cholera. If gastrointestinal symptoms (e.g., vomiting and profuse watery diarrhoea) develop while visiting the affected area, travellers should seek medical care at once.
