Cholera outbreak suspected in Mansehra District, Pakistan

Authorities have reported that over 520 people were seeking local hospital care for symptoms of gastroenteritis in the district on a daily basis. While cholera has been confirmed by laboratory testing in only two of these cases, it is highly likely that many of the persons seeking hospital care are infected with cholera.

Travellers in this area should be aware of the risk of exposure to cholera and take all necessary precautions to avoid consuming contaminated food and water.
