Cholera outbreaks in Ivory Coast

Outbreaks of cholera continue to be reported in various areas of Ivory Coast. Three days ago, 8 cases of cholera were confirmed in the village of Tableguikou in the sub-prefecture of Divo. Cholera cases and deaths continue to be reported from the interior of the country and in Abidjan, particularly in the commune of Kumasi.

All travellers to any area where cholera has been reported can reduce the risk of exposure to this infection by strictly observing all food and water precautions. If gastrointestinal symptoms (e.g., vomiting and profuse watery diarrhoea) develop while visiting the affected area, travellers should seek medical care at once.
