Cholera spreads to Nampula, Mozambique

Cholera has spread to the city of Nampula, in the north of Mozambique. At least 60 patients have been diagnosed and treated. In the past 7 weeks the province has reported 18 deaths and 12,535 cases of this infection. Travellers to any area where cholera has been reported can reduce the risk of exposure to this infection by strictly observing all food and water precautions. If gastrointestinal symptoms (e.g., vomiting and profuse watery diarrhoea) develop while visiting the affected area, travellers should seek medical care at once.
