Cholera spreads to the Dominican Republic from Haiti

The major cholera epidemic affecting Haiti continues to cross the border into the Dominican Republic. Health authorities have recorded 12 deaths and over 1,000 cases in the Dominican Republic.

Travellers to both Haiti and the Dominican Republic should be aware of the risk of exposure to cholera and take all necessary precautions to avoid consuming unsafe food and water.
