Concern over deaths due to leishmaniasis in Marabá, Pará, Brazil

Among the 400 cases of leishmaniasis recorded in the municipality of Marabá during the first 6 months of this year, there were 4 deaths. A total of 19 people are currently being treated for this infection. Apparently, last year there were no cases in this area.
