Contaminated Tap Water in Hanoi, Vietnam

Hanoi authorities reported that waste oil dumped into a nearby stream spilled into the Song Da water company reservoir in Hoa Binh Province. Tap water is contaminated in Hanoi and surrounding areas. Initial testing indicated higher-than-recommended levels of styrene. Some of the affected districts are districts of Thanh Xuan, Ha Dong, Nam Tu Liem, Hoang Mai, Cau Giay, Thanh Tri, Hoai Duc, Thanh Oai, Dan Phuong, and Ung Hoa.

Do not use tap water for drinking or cooking until the water supply is found to be safe for consumption.
