Continuing violence in northeastern Maiduguri, Nigeria

The Nigerian military has reported that 24 members of the Boko Haram were killed in a gun fight in the northeastern town of Maiduguri. The Human Rights Watch reported that since this insurrection began, about 2800 people have been killed in the fighting.

This incident is another violent episode in the on-going sectarian violence in northern Nigeria.
