Cyclone MAHASEN heads for Bangladesh and parts of Myanmar

Although cyclone MAHASEN had been downgraded to a category one storm, it will still pose a major risk to about 8 million people living in northeast India, Bangladesh and Myanmar. The storm is expected to make landfall on Friday morning north of the Bangladeshi city of Chittagong as it moves northeastwards over the Bay of Bengal. Travellers in the affected area should monitor local weather and emergency reports and take shelter as the storm approaches.
