Deadly bombings continue to create havoc in Iraq

In the latest of a long series of indiscriminate bombings in Irag, 3 incidents illustrate the continuing surge in bloodshed across the country:

  • A suicide truck bomb exploded at a police station killing 12 people.
  • Almost simultaneously, another bomb exploded at a school in al-Qubba in the northern outskirts of Mosul wounding 137 children at an elementary school.
  • In another attack, suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest targeted Shiite pilgrims in northeast Baghdad's al-Qahira neighborhood, killing at least 7 people and wounding 30 others.
Travellers are advised to avoid all travel to Iraq due to the unpredictability of bombings and total lack of personal security.
