Deadly bombings in Iraq

A suicide bomber has killed at least 19 and injured 26 people in an attack just outside a Shiite mosque in Baghdad as they were going to noon prayers. In another two separate attacks in Mosul, two policemen and one civilian were killed when a car bomb exploded outside police posts, one in the Bab al-Beid and one in the Mashahda district. Roadside bombs in Sadr City and Dura districts also left two people dead.

Travellers should be aware that there has been increased violence in recent months between militants and the army with civilians sometimes targeted or caught in the location of a bombing or crossfire.
