Deadly bombings kill about 70 people in Iraq as sectarian violence increases

Today at least 70 people were reported killed after more than 12 bomb blasts targeted retail areas around Baghdad. A 2-car bomb attack blasted the Sadr district killing at least 13 people. Other targeted areas included the Bab al-Sharqui area, New Baghdad district, as well as incidents in Anbar and Nineveh provinces.

Travellers should be aware of the increase in sectarian violence in Iraq over the past several weeks.
