Deadly cholera continues in Katanga Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo

In the last 2 months, more than 2,300 cases of cholera and 76 deaths have been reported in Lubumbashi and other parts of Katanga Province. Travellers to this area can reduce the risk of exposure to cholera by strictly observing all food and water precautions. If visiting this area and if gastrointestinal symptoms develop, e.g., vomiting and watery diarrhoea, travellers should seek medical care at once.
