Deadly dengue fever in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Philippines

There have been reports of 7 deaths due to dengue fever in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) in just the first 10 days of this month. The exact number of cases in the community is not reported. There may be many unreported cases since counting and reporting may be hampered by lack of local access to health care, and many persons with mild illness may not seek health care.
