Deadly flooding after record rainfall in Germany and Central Europe

Flooding reached dangerous levels today in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic after record rainfall. Some areas have issued disaster warnings as rivers rise. In Germany, states of emergency were declared and at least four people have died. Cities reporting disaster warnings are Chemnitz, Rosenheim, and Passau. Long areas of the Rhine, Neckar, and Main rivers are closed to shipping traffic, and rail services between Munich, Germany and Salzburg, Austria are suspended. Evacuations are taking place in Austria (especially Tyrol and Styria) and Switzerland due to flooding and landslides. Heavy rains are forecasted to continue, and water levels are expected to continue rising.
